Alexander Gulin

Alexander Gulin is a soloist with the Russian orchestra Pratum Integrum and postgraduate student of the Moscow Conservatoire. He plays at concerts on the Baroque and modern cello, the viola da gamba and Central Asian folk instruments (gidzhak or oriental violin, rebec). Born in Tashkent in 1980, he studied at the V.A. Uspensky Republican Music School (with Atkham Mansyrov). In 1995 he won a special prize at the Tchaikovsky International Youth Competition (Sendai, Japan). Continuing his musical education in Moscow, Gulin graduated from the Moscow Conservatoire Faculty of Ancient and Modern Artistic Performance (taught by Natalya Gutman and Andrei Spiridonov).
