Claudio Constantini

Claudio Constantini has had an international and multi-faceted career as a performer of two instruments, the piano and the bandoneón, as well as being a composer in demand. Born and raised in Lima (Perú) into a musician´s family, Constantini´s unique style is defined by its solid classical roots paired with a passion for popular music genres, among which Latin American music and improvisation play a key role.

Constantini´s engagements for the 2018-2019 season included appearances at the Ravinia Festival (Chicago), the Botín Foundation (Santander), and the Philharmonic Societies of Bilbao, Zaragoza and Lima, Perú. He performed with the philharmonic of the Czech Republic, the Extremadura Orchestra, the Requena orchestra, and the Murcia orchestra, this last one performing Piazzolla´s double concerto for bandoneón and guitar together with legendary guitarist Manuel Barrueco.

During 2017-2018, he performed at acclaimed concert venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus in Vienna or the Palau de la Música in Barcelona to name only a selected few, as well as appearances in festivals such as the Rheingau Festival (Germany), Klassik an Dom (Linz, Austria) and Ravinia festival (USA), among others.

He has released a total of 5 albums, all of which have had great international reception. His latest album titled America earned him a nomination for the Latin Grammy Award in the category of Best Classical Album. He has also collaborated in over a dozen productions for various artists.

?Constantini has been invited to teach master classes at several institutions in Europe and abroad. He organizes the yearly “Primavera Pianistica” masterclasses and competition in Belgium, aimed at young pianists who wish to develop their artistry further.

?He initiated his piano studies with his father (Gerardo Constantini) and later received his bachelor´s degree in Finland, his master´s degree in The Netherlands, and finally the diploma de concert in Paris, all of which earned him the highest distinctions. He was a pupil and eventually assistant of maestro Aquiles Delle Vigne, a disciple of legendary pianists Claudio Arrau and Gyorgy Cziffra.
