He deserves an honorable place alongside greats such as Vivaldi and Handel, as his works sound at least as colorful, playful, inventive and sparkling as those of his contemporaries.\r\n\r\nSometime after 1700 his parents returned with him to Amsterdam. By then, the city had become an epicentre of music publishers. Many Italian composers published their work in the city; Vivaldi made public appearances and in 1729, Pietro Locatelli even opted to move there.\r\n\r\nIn 1708, De Fesch was appointed violinist in the orchestra of the Amsterdam City Theatre. He composed a lot of music for stage performances himself, such as the concerts in C and A minor on this album. As far as we know, orchestral works only started to appear again in 1741: the audibly matured Opus 10, also recorded on this album.","brand":"Challenge Classics","offers":[{"title":"FLAC 192 kHz \/ 2ch Stereo","offer_id":56739445637444,"sku":"CC72829-6","price":20.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true},{"title":"FLAC 96 kHz \/ 2ch Stereo","offer_id":56739445670212,"sku":"CC72829-7","price":19.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true},{"title":"DSD 64 \/ 2ch Stereo","offer_id":57311066816836,"sku":"CC72829-14","price":23.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0966\/7900\/2436\/files\/CC72829.jpg?v=1790546804","url":"https:\/\/www.nativedsd.com\/products\/cc72829-fesch-concerti-grossi-and-violin-concerto","provider":"NativeDSD Music","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
