This is Nadia's second album at NativeDSD, following her earlier release \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eQuotations \u0026amp; Homages\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e.\r\n\r\nThe eight compositions monumentalize places as wildly diverse as the Copland House in Cortlandt, NY, The American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, Louis Kahn’s National Assembly Buildings in Bangladesh, Newgrange Ancient Temple in Ireland, and Frank Gehry’s House in Santa Monica, CA.\r\n\r\nIncluded is a significant new work from Andrew Norman, \u003cem\u003eFrank’s House\u003c\/em\u003e, for two pianos and percussion, and another large work from Nina C. Young, \u003cem\u003eKolokol\u003c\/em\u003e, for two pianos and electronics (a ‘fantasy’ inspired by Russian Orthodox Church Bells).\r\n\r\nAdditionally, six solo works were written specifically for this project by Amy Beth Kirsten, Hannah Lash, James Matheson, Harold Meltzer, Lewis Spratlan, and Jack Van Zandt. The composers use very different musical approaches and sonic techniques in response to their chosen spaces.\r\n\r\nThe album was recorded with Steinway \u0026amp; Sons, Model D pianos and a Schoenhut 37 key Traditional Deluxe Spinet Toy Piano.\r\n\r\nThis recording was funded in part by The Aaron Copland Fund For Music, The Alice M.
