{"product_id":"hdtti1-illumination","title":"Illumination","description":"Illumination is a Jazz album by the Al Stauffer Trio.  Recorded to Analog Tape by Bob Sellman of Direct-to-Tape Recording (DTR), this album has been transferred to Stereo DSD 64 and Stereo DSD 128 by Bob Witak at High Definition Tape Transfers (HDTT) with the cooperation and permission of DTR.\r\n\r\nAll of the artists and composers involved in this recording, with the exception of Wayne Shorter, are - or were - interconnected in the fertile Philadelphia jazz sphere.\r\n\r\nAl Stauffer and Tom Lawton regularly performed together in a MidCity venue. Joel Levine and composer\/pianist Uri Caine were members of another working group. Stauffer and Bernard Peiffer were musical partners for a dozen years, an association that ended with the composer- pianist’s death in 1976. Lawton and Levine studied piano with the late French expatriate pianomaster and studied improvisational concepts with Stauffer.\r\n\r\nNot surprisingly, all of them are intense musicians with a tenacious dedication to excellence, and their joint contributions have produced here a session of unusual cohesion and muscularity.\r\n\r\n\u003cstrong\u003eAl Stauffer Trio\u003c\/strong\u003e\r\nAl Stauffer - String Bass\r\nTom Lawton - Piano\r\nJoel Levine - Recorders\r\n\u003cdiv class=\"ms-editor-squiggler\" style=\"color: initial; font: initial; background: initial; background-blend-mode: initial; border: initial; border-radius: initial; border-collapse: initial; caption-side: initial; clear: initial; columns: initial; column-fill: initial; column-rule: initial; column-span: initial; cursor: initial; flex: initial; flex-flow: initial; float: initial; height: 0px; letter-spacing: initial; margin: initial; max-height: initial; max-width: initial; min-height: initial; min-width: initial; overflow: initial; padding: initial; text-align: initial; text-decoration: initial; text-indent: initial; text-transform: initial; vertical-align: initial; border-spacing: initial; width: initial;\"\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e","brand":"High Definition Tape Transfers","offers":[{"title":"DSD 64 \/ 2ch Stereo","offer_id":56739026534724,"sku":"HDTTI1-14","price":23.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true},{"title":"FLAC 192 kHz \/ 2ch Stereo","offer_id":56739026567492,"sku":"HDTTI1-6","price":20.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true},{"title":"FLAC 96 kHz \/ 2ch Stereo","offer_id":56739026600260,"sku":"HDTTI1-7","price":19.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true},{"title":"DSD 128 \/ 2ch Stereo","offer_id":57308843934020,"sku":"HDTTI1-15","price":25.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0966\/7900\/2436\/files\/Illumination-Trimmed.png?v=1790472498","url":"https:\/\/www.nativedsd.com\/products\/hdtti1-illumination","provider":"NativeDSD Music","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
