Rob Pennock
Music Reviewer
Rob trained as a singer at university and learnt about music as a hobby. He writes for Audiophile Sound and Classical Source. He owns thousands of LPs and loves DSD, particularly DSD 512, as the nearest digital has come to the analogue sound of Decca and Mercury at their best. He has thousands of hours of historical performances in which expressive interpretive licence is taken for granted, and is happy with historically informed performance before Haydn, but not with small chamber orchestras in Beethoven.
