In October 2022, Jazz Fusion band Djabe and Guitarist Steve Hackett from Genesis took part in a special Direct to Disc recording session at the Artone Recording Studio in Haarlem, The Netherlands.

The band recorded Art In Tone, a Direct to Disc album for release on two 45 RPM Vinyl Records. The recording was done on the Direct Metal Mastering cutting machine, using High-End analog equipment. The session was also recorded live to 2 Track Analog Tape.

Art In Tone is now available Exclusively from NativeDSD in a Stereo Pure DSD 256 transfer from the Analog Master Tape!

Djabe is known for the excellent sound of its recordings, records and 5.1 Channel Surround Sound albums. They recorded several of their albums using analog technology, and they always cut their records from analogue master tapes.

The high-quality Live Recording and Direct to Disc techniques of the Artone Recording Studio and the professional knowledge of the studio’s staff make Art In Tone unique in the band’s history. The album  reproduces analog sound at a level that is also outstanding internationally.

Tamás Barabás, the band’s sound engineer and bassist, worked closely with the studio’s professionals, including engineers Rinus Hooning and Martijn Schouten during the recording.

We are aware that we are dealing here with a world class band. The combination of these musicians with our tube equipment has brought us to the highest result what we have brought in our career so far. It is a privilege for us to be able to create this product with these professional musicians in our professional studio.
— Rinus Hooning, Artone Recording Engineer
