Reflections on Beauty (Pure DSD)
There are certainly strong connections between music and healing. The healing effects of good music have been felt and used by many throughout history, and in modern times there have been many studies and experiments to prove it. However, the link between the pharmaceutical industry and music needs some explanation. The Richter-Capriccio was inspired by the Hungarian pharmaceutical company founded by Gedeon Richter, and I composed this virtuoso piano piece for a celebration to mark the 150th birthday of the founder of this famous company.
What kind of grip and connection points does a musician find in such an unusual task?
First of all, the composition is to represent a celebration. Also, the piece needs to be short. Yet in this short duration, some important message should be delivered. The music begins with a short introduction that is attention-grabbing, somewhat modern in sound, impulsive and as if there were some Hungarian elements in the treatment of harmony and rhythm.
