Exclusively Available in Pure DSD 256 Stereo & 5 Channel Surround Sound at NativeDSD! A living legend in the Spanish piano scene, Josep Colom presents Mozart Piano Sonatas in a fresh and innovative way on this album. He intersperses the pieces with his own interludes, which play with motifs, anticipate themes, and introduce new ornamentation, evoking the spirit of improvisation from Mozart's time. This is Josep Colom's 8th album at NativeDSD from Eudora Records. This collection recorded and exclusively available at NativeDSD in Stereo and 5 Channel Surround Sound Pure DSD 256 features four of the Austrian composer’s piano sonatas as you’ve never heard them before. From the counterpoint-rich D Major Sonata, K. 576, to the dramatic C Minor Sonata, K. 457, and including the delightful B-flat Major Sonata, K. 333, as well as the "easy" C Major Sonata, K. 545, Colom reaches new artistic heights in this captivating interpretation of Mozart’s masterpieces.

... For this album, I thought, “Oh, just more Mozart… I’m sure it will be pleasant.” Hmmm… No. With Josep Colom nothing is simply “pleasant.” He is going to wrap your brain around your ears and spin you into a different dimension of musical insight and pure delight...

Pizzicato

Remy Franck

For eighty minutes, we are immersed in a clear Mozart sound that, despite all the nuances of tempo, dynamics and color, sounds quite simple. Colom’s playing is characterized by a tone that is as mature as it is playful; elegant, without pretension or virtuoso outbursts.

Colom’s Mozart is lean and precise; full of clarity.Gonzalo Noqué is your guarantor for perfect sound and generous (over 80 minutes) registration in all the popular formats, though for me DSD surround will do.
