American Triad
Rare piano concertos by Borowski, Bloch and Rubinstein, four of them recorded for the first time.
Reference Recordings proudly presents American Triad, honoring the music of three composers whose intertwined relationship was one of respect, admiration and camaraderie. The “triad” is Felix Borowski, Ernest Bloch and Beryl Rubinstein. Borowski and Bloch immigrated to the United States and became citizens, while Rubinstein was born in Athens, Georgia. Each composer has a distinctive credo and style, and each wrote major works for piano and orchestra which are presented on this new album of rarely heard masterpieces – four of which receive their first commercial recordings.
