Reviews

Fanfare

Lynn René Bayley

By the time this recital was finished, I was so thoroughly engrossed in their joint interpretation that I didn't even think about their technique at all. It was just as if the composers were speaking to me through her voice and his piano—and that, ideally, is how it should be. Thus her singing is not only, for me, more interesting than de los Angeles but also more interesting than mezzo Teresa Berganza.

Dagbladet

Ståle Wikshåland

Recording characterized by cool elegance and underlying passion. It is a tone of voice that Galdos masters very well.

Aftenposten

Idar Karevold

She sings incredibly beautifully. Beautiful, playful, expressive and good-sounding songs. Galdos has a beautiful voice which she manages with musical flair and a sense of poetic richness. The fact that she is well seconded by Frantzen is fully experienced throughout the recording.

Musikredaksjonen, NRK P2

Nina Krohn

The common denominator of the songs and the performance is warmth and closeness. The good pianist Per Arne Frantzen makes a flowery intro with a touch of impressionism. Itziar M. Galdos sings subdued and slightly sensual and lets the text drive the simple melody forward.
