Adagio - The BitPerfect Collection, Vol. 1

Adagio is a DSD Sampler that features 12 tracks from the extensive Channel Classics catalog of DSD recordings available at Native DSD Music. The tracks on this sampler have been selected by Richard Murison of BitPerfect - a firm based in Montreal, Canada. BitPerfect is also the company that has provided the software NativeDSD uses to convert DSD Stereo and DSD Multichannel files to 24/96 and 24/192 FLAC for listeners interested in those music formats. You will find a wide variety of Classical Music artists and performances on the Adagio sampler. Artists featured on Adagio include The Gents, Edwin Wiersinga, Peter Dijkstra, Florilegium, Ashley Solomon, Paolo Giacometti, Richard Murison says, "When you consider a complex piece of music, such as a symphony with its constituent movements, the tempo markings “Allegro”, “Sehr behaglich”, “Molto vivace”, – and, yes, “Adagio” – are good guides to the overall character of the movement or work. But a lengthy and complex work can become boring without some variation in tempo, mood, or key. So, a piece marked ‘Adagio’ will often have passages which depart from that general indicator to provide not only color and character, but also interest, and so help propel the piece along on its journey from opening to finale. That’s what I hope I have created here, a listening experience characterized by the mood of an Adagio, but without its constituent parts being Adagios in their own right. I may have succeeded in that. Or I may not. But if you find the selection enjoyable, that’s good enough for me. Either way, I’m confident that the listening experience delivered by these thirteen exquisitely-recorded tracks will be a fine reward in and of itself." We invite you to pick up a copy in your choice of Stereo and Multichannel DSD 256, DSD 128, DSD 64, 24/96 FLAC, 24/192 FLAC and Stereo DSD 512 and enjoy the music.
