Sovereign Mind

Ryan Benthall's Sovereign Mind is a Jazz album that pulls you out of the room and drops you into the music. This all-original recording blends motifs of nostalgia, introspective arrangements and a sense of dreaming that is completely captivating. The production expertly blends the instruments so that the horns are more like a choir and the piano, which leads each song, feels like a perfectly smooth base layer of color for the melodies of each composition. Recorded in Pure DSD 256 by Jay Elliott, this unique and beautifully crafted recording is available as a Stereo DSD Download. Ryan Benthall is an emerging pianist and composer whose bold, original approach to music has already made waves in the community. Known for his expressive improvisations and unique harmonic voice, Benthall is poised to make a major impact with his debut album, Sovereign Mind.
