Jazz Classics: 1940s

Octave Records' well-loved series, Jazz Classics, continues with a journey to the 1940s on the album Jazz Classics: 1940s. With a mix of fresh and nostalgic, the arrangements of popular jazz standards from the 1940s by Octave Records artist Tom Amend create the perfect blend of modern and classic. Look forward to favorites like Take the A Train, Stella by Starlight and A String of Pearls with arrangements written for bass clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, piano, bass and drums. Recorded in DSD 256 in the new Octave Studio, this is one of our best recordings yet. Jazz Classics 1940s showcases arrangements by Tom Amend as well as his mastery on piano and bass clarinet. His band is comprised of Seth Lewis on bass, Ian Spillman on drums, Nate Miller on trumpet and Daryl Gott on alto saxophone. Featured jazz standards on this collection include Take the A Train, Dewey Square, Stella by Starlight, Moonlight Serenade and a String of Pearls.
