Excellent recording. Playing back on my iRiver AK70 and Monoprice headphones. You'll feel you're right there in the room with the musicians. And yes, I too, noticed that audio anamoly in the 3rd and 4th track.
It's been a long time since I enjoyed an album so much. All tracks are a jewel. The combination is superb, beautifully recorded, amazing players, highly recommended!!!!
Beautifully played and recorded! This album is now a favorite among my collection of several Beethoven D Major concerto recordings. Widmann's cadenzas are exciting.
The C Major fragment is also quite captivating. Having never heard it before. If only young Beethoven had completed it....
Hopefully there will be more Veronika Eberle recordings soon. She is very gifted.
I purchased Volumes I and II a while ago and set them aside for a second listen now. Mozart’s Sonatas are very nicely recorded and played sensitively with finesse in these two albums. Minor complaint: it sounds to me like these recordings were made in a small room.

This is a magneficent work by a very young and promising alto, who has a mesmerizing voice. Beautifully sang, beautiful music and a great discovery, both the composer and the soloist!!
My friend Irene recommended and gave me this album. I really like countertenors and I fell completely in love with his tone and way of singing. Awesome, beautiful and super expressive.
The Times reviewer says it more eloquently than I can, and I agree totally. Listening to this album brings pure joy both in terms of performance and recording quality.
A very relaxing and laid back album for when you need to sit still after a hectic day. The sound of the guitars is soothing and makes you really listen to each song.
I acquired the original version 1 of this album (a 3 microphone Analog Recording) from Fone on an SACD and ripped it to my hard drive several years ago. I was very disappointed with the sound. It was compressed with a narrow soundstage, and I never listened to it again.
But I decided to try version 2 (a 2 microphone Analog Recording) as a DSD Download from NativeDSD. Wow what difference. Broad soundstage, much more detail, altogether a far more enjoyable experience. This once again proves that it’s not all about an SACD vs a DSD Download and sample rates in my view. Recording technique first and foremost matters.
I am a Cello fan and have many recordings of cello music. I can't stop listening to this new album by Michael Kevin Jones. The playing and sound quality are extraordinary. Massenet "Meditation" on cello is awesome.
The album will set your foot tapping from almost the first note. And, whilst the focus is mainly on the saxophone, the piano and drums have their time in the spotlight. And the recording is up to Fonè’s usual very high standards. In short: buy the album!
Cello Meditation is a gorgeous collection of the finest music, beautifully arranged. The masterful musicianship, coupled with emotion and sensitivity at the hands of John Bryden and Michael Kevin Jones, makes this a real Treasure.
This is as fine a recording as any I've ever heard. Probably in the top 3 I've heard on Native DSD.
It has it all. Detailed sound, devastating dynamics, and perfect balance between the different sections of the orchestra. You will feel as if you're in the concert hall.
I really enjoyed the music. Particularly the interplay between Reinier Voet’s guitar and Karin van Kooten’s violin. The recording is excellent. The fading ringing of the guitars, for example, adds to the musical enjoyment.
