Heroes in the Seaweed

A great new voice breathes new life on to the greatest American songwriting classics NOGA, whose soothing vocals and guitar work bring a fresh perspective to Heroes in the Seaweed, a collection of classic songs. With her gentle yet rich voice, NOGA delivers each song with remarkable emotional depth, turning familiar tunes into something personal and reflective. Her voice, often complemented by breathtaking three-part harmonies, creates a sonic tapestry that draws the listener in, blending seamlessly with the acoustic arrangements that define the album’s lush, spacious sound. Heroes in the Seaweed uncovers timeless classics of the American singer-songwriter canon, reimagined through a Zen acoustic lens, where songs like Van Morrison’s "Into the Mystic" and Paul Simon’s "America" are given new life, stripped back to their emotional cores. NOGA’s approach is calm yet powerful, with Noga’s voice leading the way, wrapped in harmonies that feel as expansive as the arrangements themselves. Noga’s vocals on "Stoned Soul Picnic" (written by Laura Nyro) and "Suzanne" (by Leonard Cohen) carry a soft intimacy that honors the original compositions while adding a contemplative, almost ethereal quality. The tracks are filled with delicate textures that transform each song into a journey, blending introspection with musical richness. The combination of Noga’s guitar work and the careful acoustic arrangements creates an environment where the songs are free to breathe. Even on more upbeat tracks like "Sunny" (by Bobby Hebb) or the groovy "I Can't Stand the Rain" (by Ann Peebles, Don Bryant, and Bernard Miller), there’s a sense of space that invites the listener to soak in the details. NOGA's rendition of The Beatles' "I'm Only Sleeping" has a dreamy quality, enhanced by NOGA's tender delivery, while "The Chain" (by Fleetwood Mac) feels raw and introspective, giving it a fresh emotional resonance. Each track on the album is crafted with care, presenting a balance between soft acoustics and layered harmonies. The zen acoustic treatment applied to these classic songs allows the listener to appreciate their beauty in a new, calming way. NOGA’s debut album is both a tribute to the original composers and a demonstration of the her unique ability to infuse these classics with fresh emotion and depth. Whether it’s the earthy tones of "Way Over Yonder" (by Carole King) or the breezy feel of "Everybody’s Talkin’" (by Fred Neil), NOGA’s sound brings out the best in each song, creating an immersive experience that feels both timeless and refreshing. NOGA’s voice, harmonies, and her acoustic warmth make this album an invitation to sit back, relax, and rediscover these songs in a way you’ve never heard before.
