Dynamically the album provides a unique sound experience! The music tracks are a fascinating experience and managed to touch me spiritually. I can recommend it to everyone!
All of my other cello recordings that I thought were great, now sound liken they have a cloud over them. I would love to have a Bach Cello Suite recording by the HR team. So sweet and alive. I can't stop playing it.
This album is indeed fresh and new, and it is something quite delightful. It clearly is not purely the music of the Hindustani tradition. It is Western tradition inflected, it is improvisation, it is an intriguing blend of two traditions meeting with creative musical invention. And the sound quality is similarly excellent. Captured very simply with a single stereo AKG-24 tube microphone direct to DSD256, the sound has that wonderful transparency that we hear with the best analog and the best DSD256 recordings. Overall, I've found this album is immersive and addictive. I simply relax into it and enjoy.
I listened to the album in 5.1 Channel Surround Sound. This is an impressive recording. It is real Immersive Surround Sound where back speakers contain a part of the musical information (in this case drums). As usually with 2L the 0.1 subwoofer channel is used and contains ultra low frequencies. This makes the album still more impressive in 5.1 Channel Surround Sound.
Don’t expect a recording as if the trio was in your room. It is recorded with the full ambience and reverb of the church where recording took place. All of this is very tastefully done. The program of this album is mainly acoustic jazz and is easy accessible.
This is the album to have to demo your Surround Sound System to your visiting friends.
Lute and harp are both beautifully played and recorded in this album. To my ear, these instruments are highly complimentary. Thankful to hear and have Reggio in my collection. Looking forward to future volumes.
I listened to this album in a 5.1 Surround Sound speaker setting. It is a very nice piano recording, one of the best in my whole collection. I fully recommend it, demo quality.
Christian Grovlens is a musical talent, his Bach playing is very appealing.
Like many classical music lovers I have several recordings of my favorite pieces. I have 5 or 6 recordings of Beethoven's 6th. This one is now my favorite. I purchased the 2 Channel Stereo version.
Many recordings of a symphony sound nice, but all of the instruments seem to merge together - this recording is different. They did an excellent job of separating the strings, woodwinds and brass instruments. Each group of instruments sounds like they are in a separate space. A very engaging recording.
Beautifully played and recorded music composed by a favorite legendary jazz great!
This is the first single-mike recording for my NativeDSD collection. After careful listening, I’ve decided that there will be more single-mike additions.
That Sound Liaison’s crew was able to get the players and instruments so well represented, positioned and balanced after only 2 hours of setup is impressive. The sound stage is open, well defined, realistic, and very clear. The live audience contribution is also realistic, and at a proper sound level.
It’s easy to understand why these brothers are so popular. All instruments are excellently and smoothly played. I can highly recommend this recording, and hope that there will be more Feenbrothers recordings in DSD.
All Stations in DSD is like listening to a high quality record. Probably due to the analog recording being mixed to DSD, and the playback via my Denafrips DAC.
The sound quality of this album in DSD is far beyond the MP3 audio samples available on the NativeDSD website.
This is great music with an expansive sound stage and separation of instruments. The musical and technical quality of sound from the mix of electronic and real instruments is done very well here and that is rare. Sometimes I'm dissapointed in a download but definitely not this one.
These Pure DSD albums are pretty much a given- I know they will be great and am much more willing to give the download a try. In fact it can be a let down for more than a few seconds when I go from listening to one of these to a regular high resolution album. Oh and this album- it is great. Eszter's voice is very relaxing and with that expansive sound from the band backing her up makes things perfect.
This may be my favorite piano album. The nocturnes are distant and a bit haunting. The waltzes are smooth and flowing. I knew I wanted the album from the MP3 sample clips but when I listened to the tracks in their entirety (and higher quality DSD sound) my expectations were exceeded.
This was my first foray into DSD purchases and more than a little out of my usual musical wheelhouse, but I took a shot.
GLAD that I did. The "being there" aspect of this recording is delightful. You feel the cold stone of the recording venue. The musical selections are intriguing and varied. This was the weekly sale item and I'm glad I took the chance on it. 👍
Call it Fusion, Jazz or Rock, these folks can play it. Aggressive upbeat tunes played with exceptional competency. This Pure DSD 256 multi-mic mix is well balanced and clean.
My first album in DSD format. I was amazed by the quality of the recording. Previously, I had listened to music of various genres in AAC format. Once you immerse yourself in high quality recordings there is no going back.
Gustav Mahler's symphonies are fantastic. Especially as performed by conductor Iván Fischer. I definitely recommend not only this album, but all of his recordings. Although I have only average musical equipment at my disposal, the technical processing of the album is at an extremely high level.
Listening to Rachmaninov performed by Anna Fedorova, my heart celebrates. Wonderful music and when I close my eyes I feel I am in the middle of a concert hall. Recording music in DSD format is a world of magic for me. I don't understand how it actually works, but the result is fantastic. I definitely recommend this album.
I really like this album with great audiophile songs and this young orchestra. I was there inside orchestra. It's orchestral deflagration is not inside my head with my Audeze open headphone but the sound is around me.
Seven years ago it was so difficult to find DSD to download. With NativeDSD, I am always satisfied.
This set is very handy when setting your initial system. It is also VERY useful when making ANY, even the smallest, changes in you system or the room. I highly recommend (and use it very often) the tracks 58-69 "Precise Location and Depth-of-Field". This will pinpoint the issues that you might have with your, otherwise, great system. I recommend it as a great tool.
