Mila Baslawskaja

Mila Baslawskaja was born in Moscow and studied at the Central Music and Conservatory of Moscow. At a young age she gave many recitals in Russia. She also played with other musicians such as Natalia Gutman , Oleg Kagan , Gidon Kremer and Yuri Basjmet.

In 1978 she left with her husband, cellist Dmitri Ferschtman their children and the former Soviet Union and went in Netherlands live. Together with him, she performed in various countries.

With Ferschtman she took works of Nikolai Myaskovsky , Alfred Schnittke , Shostakovich , Debussy , and César Franck on. Baslawskaja is currently majoring teacher piano and chamber music at the Rotterdam Conservatory and theConservatory of Amsterdam. Mila’s daughter is the violinist Liza Ferschtman .
