Grace features the Broadway Inspirational Voices, a gospel choir comprised of some of New York’s finest singers and musicians led by Michael McElroy (director) and Shelton Becton, singer, pianist, and composer best known for his work as Musical Director for singer Patti Austin. The album features thrilling performances of gospel favorites in Direct Stream Digital (DSD) Stereo plus a full 5 Channel Surround Sound DSD edition that includes powerful Center Channel gospel vocals. This DMP release was recorded Live Direct to Stereo and Multichannel DSD at Clinton Recording in New York City.
Broadway Inspirational Voices is a gospel choir comprised of performers presently performing on Broadway. Some of the shows represented are The Producers, The Full Monty, Rent, 42nd Street, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Cabaret, Aida, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Sweet Smell of Success, Hairspray, Into The Woods, and Momma Mia. Some of the choir’s performing highlights are: 2000 Tony Awards, Opsail 2000 performing for President and Mrs. Clinton, Broadway Sings Elton John (with Elton John), My Favorite Broadway on PBS, The Rosie O’Donnell Christmas Special, Broadway Salutes The Spirit of Harlem at the Apollo Theater, Three Mo Tenors on PBS, and eight years of fall benefit concerts for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. The choir provides an opportunity for individuals of different races, ethnic groups, and religious backgrounds to spiritually unite through the singing of Gospel Music.
