Denis Matsuev continues his artistic involvement with the Serge Rachmaninoff Foundation under its president Alexander Rachmaninoff, the grandson of the composer. It was Matsuev who was chosen to present the great composer’s unpublished works. In the 2007-2008 season a new album was released featuring Matsuev playing Rachmaninov’s unknown works, recorded at the composer’s grand piano. The pianist’s solo performances of the Unknown Rachmaninov cycle of programmes continue to receive the highest of praise in Russia and around the world.
