On her new album An seidenen Fäden (By A Silk Thread), Katja Werker sings eleven songs about the search for happiness and inner balance. The songs are about getting back up after difficult times and valuing yourself.

The album is filled with positive messages, human emotions, and empowering thoughts. For example, the song “Steh auf, geh raus” (Stand up, go out) is a powerful anthem of encouragement, urging listeners to step out of their fears and feel their own worth. “Es ist wie es ist” (It is what it is) appeals to remain calm and trust in oneself. “Alles kommt wieder” (Everything comes again) calls for a fresh start.

Katja Werker’s new songs are poetic and so light they seem to float – yet they never lose touch with reality. The exceptional singer masterfully complements her lyrical texts with powerful melodies. It’s a perfect fit, then, that this singer-songwriter also performs “Ich liebe das Leben” by Vicky Leandros and “Immer wieder geht die Sonne auf” by Udo Jürgens, lending these pop chansons a completely new tenderness.

Her bright voice sounds clear and gentle, sensitive and empathetic, at times even slightly bluesy. Gert Neumann and Ian Melrose, with their silvery-sounding steel-string guitar playing, enhance the brightness of the songs and allow the exceptional singer’s voice to shine. The more you listen to this album, the more it begins to glow. These songs are warm – like a warm embrace.

Fidelity Magazine

On her new album, Katja Werker describes life as a hamster wheel. Of successes and failures, of disappointments and many questions to which only a few answers follow. Real life as we all know it!

But, and this is the message of this album: “Cheer up, eyes straight ahead and move forward!” Don’t let yourself be touched by any busybodies and arrogant guys who think they have to put themselves in the limelight all the time. Find your own way and follow it persistently. It finally leads to a large room of insights, where there is always plenty of room for a smile.

Poetic, sensitive and therefore captivating, An seidenen Fänden is more than just another album by the artist. She has arrived, has managed to grow from negative experiences, to develop a mature personality and to remain modest despite her success.

Their songs inevitably invite you to listen. Often with a smile on my face, I listen and nod in agreement again and again. Katja Werker is right, with her texts and stories from life … I describe the musical accompaniment with the two guitarists Ian Melrose and Gert Neumann as symbiotic.

A classic win-win situation for all three musicians. This album is very special! Profound and equally life-affirming, the two cover titles “I love life” by Vicky Leandros and “Immer wieder geht die Sonne auf” by Udo Jürgens fit seamlessly.
