A 70-minute symphonic work for jazz quartet and string quartet by Danish composer and flugelhorn player Jakob Buchanan, born out of his immersion in the ancient landscape of the Mols peninsula in eastern Jutland, Denmark. After moving to Mols in 2020, Buchanan was given a handwritten booklet of traditional fiddle tunes by local legend Peter Madsen (1865–1900), which he dismantled and rewove into 13 original compositions — recorded live in April 2025. The album defies genre, inhabiting the borderland between composed Nordic chamber music and improvised jazz, where the string quartet and jazz ensemble alternately take center stage in a cinematic portrait of hills, inlets, sacred stones, and old memories.
