Vivaldi 100. 13 Violin Concertos (Vol. 2)

Violinist Giuliano Carmignola is synonymous with Vivaldi, a composer to whom he has devoted several albums, now considered landmarks. With the release of ‘Vivaldi 100’, Carmignola passes the milestone of recording 100 of his violin concertos, adding to a discography which already includes many unpublished works, notably from the musician’s ‘late’ period. Prompted by the creation of a bespoke violin by the great luthier David Bagué i Soler, Carmignola realised that his lifelong love of Vivaldi had already brought him close to realising this impressive achievement. With over 230 violin concertos in Vivaldi’s oeuvre, Carmignola carefully selected 13 to perform with his partners I Solisti Aquilani. This momentous recording reveals the Treviso virtuoso’s incomparable affinity with this repertoire of inexhaustible charm.
