Between Somewhere and Goodbye
Supported by Nashville notables: drummer Lynn Williams, Mark T . Jordan on piano, Wurlitzer electric piano and B3 organ, and bassist Paul Ossola plus the vocal harmonies of The Shoals Sisters, Cindy Richardson Walker, Marie Tomlinson Lewey and Carla Russell, Doug offers up a collection of eleven of his compositions presented in both solo and ensemble settings.
“This album is a little different from my other albums. Oh, there’s blues here, humor here, and even a touch of soul here. And…… there’s a theme running through many of the songs here.” – Doug MacLeod
There’s A Time
Prof.’ Keith Johnson’s first Blues recording! Thirteen Doug MacLeod originals highlight this richly detailed recording, done at Skywalker Sound in Marin County, California by Reference Recording’s Grammy Award winning engineer. Also featuring Doug’s longtime bassist Denny Croy and Jimi Bott, one of the most recorded, awarded and respected blues drummers in the world.
Exactly Like This
The album contains eleven new MacLeod originals reflecting and paying tribute to some of his diverse musical influences: Louis Jordan, Wes Montgomery, Jerry Reed, Tony Joe White, John Lee Hooker, and even a little Duke Ellington. In live performance, Doug MacLeod assures his audience “This song is going to go exactly like this.” It’s presented just for them, not a repeat of any performance he’s ever given or will ever give. He records the same way, each of his original songs are offered with a fresh voice.
Break The Chain
On Break The Chain, Blues Singer Doug MacLeod continues to explore the breadth and depth of the human condition. The album brings listeners 12 new MacLeod originals. Each song is extremely personal and at the same time, universal. Covering subjects topical, humorous, and soulful; from the satirical to the sublime.
The album won the 2018 Blues Music Awards Acoustic Album of the Year. It was also nominated for the 2018 Blues Blast Music Awards Acoustic Blues Album of the Year.
