Spanish Popular Songs is dedicated to the Spanish poet and composer Federico García Lorca and presents two different solo guitar interpretations of his famous Canciones populares españolas.

The first collection was arranged by the flamenco guitarist Manuel Cano (1925–1990). His version offers a refined reading and a thoughtful adaptation for solo guitar, enriched with elegant flamenco touches in the purest traditional style.

The second collection was arranged in the 1980s by the Spanish guitarist Ramón Cueto (b. 1932). His interpretation introduces a more modern and renewed musical language while preserving the essence and spirit of Lorca’s original songs.
