Trumpet virtuoso Tine Thing Helseth, the Bergen Philharmonic and Petr Popelka explore bold soundscapes in works by Arutiunian, Penderecki and Weinberg.
Celebrated Norwegian trumpet soloist Tine Thing Helseth returns this fall with a powerful new album that highlights the expressive and dramatic potential of the trumpet. Featuring trumpet concertos by Alexander Arutiunian, Krzysztof Penderecki, and Mieczysław Weinberg, as well as Arutiunian’s vibrant Theme and Variations, the album was recorded with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Petr Popelka.
This album means a great deal to me. It brings together music that has followed me since I was a teenager, alongside works I’ve come to love more recently. The combination of these pieces feels like a portrait of my artistic journey.
