Chopin at Home, Vol. 2 is a meticulous audio and artistic exploration of Frédéric Chopin’s most profound compositions, performed by Italian pianist Marco Arcieri and released by VDM Records. Exclusively Available from the Edit Master Source at NativeDSD.
The album serves as an intimate look into the Romantic composer’s psychological landscape, prioritizing raw emotional depth over rigid, scholastic technique. It is the long awaited follow up to his album Chopin at Home, Vol. 1 – also available at NativeDSD!
True to VDM High-End Records’ reputation, the album is an audiophile-grade production designed to mimic the exact spatial dynamics of a private living room performance. Engineered to capture physical sensations rather than just digital notes, the soundstage offers an incredibly vivid, almost tactile presentation of the grand piano. The overtones, pedal dampening, and natural room resonance are preserved to create an authentic, three-dimensional acoustic image for the listener.

ptAUDIO
This solo piano recording has a sound quality that is stunning and realistic—which is what happens when you’re album is being recorded by someone who understands audiophiles and high-end audio… the real magic of this album is Marco Arcieri, who plays these six Chopin pieces with more fire, drama and focus than I’ve heard before now. Arcieri has this fantastic habit of highlighting each note so that it sounds complete, both a statement on its own and as part of a very intricate melody… through his deliberate and impassioned strength he adds drama to the sweeping, ethereal beauty of the music.
