Roma Cantata is an album featuring compositions by Maestro Artur Banaszkiewicz — a virtuoso violinist and laureate of numerous prestigious awards, including the grand prize at the International Composition Competition in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Stereo and 5 Channel Surround Sound recording comprises two vocal-instrumental works: the seven-part “”Romani Cantata”” and Three Songs composed to the poetry of Dominik Górny, a poet translated into 19 languages and recipient of, among others, the honorary badge “”Meritorious for Polish Culture”” awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

It is worth noting that the Romani Cantata is the first work of its kind in recent decades by a contemporary, living composer to address Romani culture in such a universal way, culminating in a blend of original expression and a paraphrase of the anthem “”Djelem Djelem””.

The recording’s significance is further underscored by the participation of Justyna Reczeniedi, soloist of the Polish Royal Opera, and Krzysztof Zimny, soloist of Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz.”
