NativeDSD Exclusive
This is a Pure DSD – Analog Mixed album, transferred directly from the analog tape to DSD by STS Digital. It is available in 2-channel Stereo up to DSD 512 only at NativeDSD.
Lils Mackintosh was one of the most distinguished artists in Dutch jazz: an award-winning jazz and blues singer whose career brought her alongside Oscar Peterson, B.B. King, Scott Hamilton, Rita Reys, Madeline Bell and Georgie Fame. On Live – The Music of Billie Holiday, she turns to the singer who shaped her more than any other, channelling the spirit of “Lady Day” in front of a live audience.
Captured in concert and recorded fully in analogue on a Philips EL 3501 with Van den Hul Carbon Fibre cables, this is a release built around pure, unvarnished sound. STS Analog transferred it directly from the original master tape, preserving every nuance of Mackintosh’s smoky timbre and the warmth of the room.
The results did not go unnoticed. The release was nominated for Best Analog Recording of 2019 at the International HiFi Press Awards at RMAF 2019, and it remains highly sought after by audiophiles who value an authentic master-quality listening experience.
