In addition to twelve songs by Robert Franz, the German pianist, conductor and composer who wrote around three hundred songs to his name, of which the first twelve were published in 1843.
Alexandra Kaptein’s piano playing is flawless, her performance shows great empathy. She takes the listener on an evocatively streamlined journey in which imaginative expression predominates. She feels this music intuitively well, brings out its poetic character and apparently has also listened carefully to song duos.
