After decades of prohibition in Russia, bell-ringing has followed a unique road to make a comeback.

Bell-ringers follow the tradition as no tree can grow without roots. But to encourage the tree to grow up wide sand develop further, bell-ringing concerts and festivals are more and more held in this country. 

For several years, the Kizhi open-air museum has organized bell-ringing festivals where on light-weight wooden bell-towers, under wide northern skies, leading Russian bell-ringers demonstrate their art.
