Base2 Music, founded by producer and recording engineer Jake Purches, was built on a simple belief: that great music deserves to be recorded with the same care, imagination and integrity with which it is performed.

Working closely with exceptional musicians, every project is a genuine artistic collaboration. My aim is to capture not only the sound of the instrument, but also its atmosphere, scale, presence and emotional impact. My experience as an organist and composer has helped shape a recording approach that respects the performer, the instrument and the acoustic equally.

Every Base2 Music release is recorded in native DXD using extended-bandwidth Sennheiser MKH microphone arrays and meticulous monitoring on Vivid Audio loudspeakers. These technical choices are not made simply to achieve impressive specifications, but to preserve the beauty, realism, dynamic range and presence of the original musical event, without resorting to dynamic compression or gain riding, thereby preserving the natural dynamics of the performance.

Whether listening in stereo or immersive surround sound, my hope is always the same: that, for a while, you forget the technology, stop thinking about the recording and simply fall into the music.
