Swansong Jazz Trio [DSD Bundle]

Swansong is a Jazz Trio featuring Gábor Csordás (piano), Noriaki Hosoya (bass), and Marty Risemberg (drums).

Gábor Csordás says “The current lineup of the Swansong Jazz Trio was introduced in 2016, when Marty Risemberg joined on drums for the recording sessions of this album. Our philosophy in music is to create improvised music that is accessible and emotional, based on both traditions of jazz and European music, without being narrowed down to any genre.”

The style of the trio is centered around melodic ideas coming from European music. The nowadays somewhat unusual setup in Contemporary Jazz of electric bass and acoustic piano gives a balance between Mainstream Jazz and Fusion/Jazz-Rock rhythms often emphasized by the trio. Swansong also has a tendency to incorporate many styles into their music, from Rock to Electronic  Music and even Latin.

The majority of songs on Swansong (self-titled first album) were composed in Berlin where the trio met. It was released in 2019 on Hunnia Records & Film Production which led to immediate success especially in Japan. The band toured in Japan in 4 major cities performing the first album. Then the pandemic cut the follow-up plans short, and the trio waited three years for another reunion. In 2022 the trio recorded two albums: Turbulence in Mixát Stage, and Do Swans Fly? is their third studio album, recorded in SuperSize Studios, Törökbálint. These two albums are both Pure DSD 256 Stereo albums.
